The story of our Damask Rose Hydrolat begins 100 years ago in the basement of the Reboul Pharmacy. The hand-cropped Rosa Damascena petals were distilled by using a technique called artisanal steam distillation to keep the rose essential oil in the rose water. This way, uniquely valuable vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in the rose oil were also kept in the hydrolat. Back in the days, customers could only buy one Damask Rose Hydrolat per purchase as the precious Rosa Damascena flowers were only brought within a limited amount from the fields in Isparta. Natural rose water (hydrolat) was used by the women residing in the Pera district to cleanse and tone their skins. The rose water is considered as a beauty secret for many centuries goes back further to Cleopatra and building a reputation known for its purifying, toning, and moisturizing elements.
Now, our much-loved Damask Rose Hydrolat is back permanently, in its new 100 ml sprayer packaging! The design has been inspired by old pharmacy bottles and we have added a stopper to bring a more nostalgic feeling to this unique product!
